Social media monitoring tool that catches the posts you would miss
MentionAlert watches X (formerly Twitter), Reddit, YouTube, Bluesky, Hacker News, forums, Q&A sites and review sites for your brand, your products and your competitors. When a new public post names you, the right person on your team gets an alert by email, Slack or webhook within minutes, with sentiment and reach already attached.
Social media listening without the noise
A brand name that is also a common word can flood any feed. Boolean filters keep it readable. Each tracked keyword takes include words, exclude words, a language, a country and a list of sources, and MentionAlert applies them before a mention ever reaches your feed or your alerts.
- Require a product word next to an ambiguous brand name, so a post about the fruit never reaches a team that sells software.
- Exclude words such as hiring, job opening or giveaway to keep recruitment and contest posts out.
- Leave out your own handle and your staff accounts, so you only see what other people say.
- Limit a keyword to English and the United States when your market is domestic, or open it to every language for a launch abroad.
Social media alerts that land with the right team
Every keyword has its own routing. A complaint on X about a failed order belongs in the support channel in Slack, a competitor launch on Reddit belongs in the product marketing digest, and a creator video belongs with the person who runs partnerships. You choose an instant email, a daily digest, a Slack channel or a webhook per keyword, and the alert carries the source, the text, the author handle where the platform shows it, the sentiment and the link.
- Instant alerts for anything negative that names your brand.
- A daily digest for broad category keywords that produce volume but rarely need a reply.
- A webhook into your help desk or CRM when a mention should open a ticket or a lead.
See the full routing setup on the media monitoring app page.
What a social media monitoring tool does for a marketing team
The value of monitoring is the reply you send the same day instead of next week. These are the mentions teams act on most often.
- A customer complains in public before contacting support, and you answer while the thread is still young.
- Someone asks which tool to choose for a job your product does, which is a buying signal worth a helpful reply.
- A creator reviews your product on YouTube and you can thank them, share specifications or correct a detail.
- A competitor announces a new feature or a price change and your team hears it from the post itself. Read more about how to monitor competitors.
- A bug report shows up on a forum hours before it reaches your inbox.
- A wave of negative posts starts to build, which is where social media reputation monitoring takes over with spike alerts.
Social media analytics with sentiment and reach on every post
Each mention gets a positive, neutral or negative score from our in-house model, and you can relabel any mention when the score misses the tone. Reach is shown when the platform provides it, such as likes, points or views, and left blank when it does not. The trend chart and the full method are on the social media sentiment tracking page.
Reports follow your plan. Starter sends a weekly email summary, Team adds a weekly PDF report and CSV export, and Agency sends white-label PDF reports to each client on a schedule. You can see how they are laid out on the media monitoring reports page.
Public posts only, collected under each platform's terms
MentionAlert reads public content through official APIs and public feeds. It never enters private groups, never reads content that sits behind a login and never scrapes a site against its terms. Your mention quota counts the mentions collected in each billing period, and deleting a mention from your feed does not give that quota back.
Which plan fits your social media monitoring
Every plan covers the same social sources and scores sentiment on every mention. The difference is how much you track and how many people work in the account. Yearly billing is the default and saves 50 percent.
Starter,$49 per month or $24 per month billed yearly ($288 per year). One brand, 5 keywords, 5,000 new mentions per month, instant email alerts and a daily digest, 30 days of history, 1 seat.

Social media monitoring questions
MentionAlert covers X (formerly Twitter), Reddit, YouTube, Bluesky, Hacker News, public forums, Q&A sites and review sites, alongside news sites and blogs. Reddit, X, YouTube and review sites are covered on every plan through their official access.
No. MentionAlert only collects public content through official APIs and public feeds. Private groups, closed communities and posts that need a login stay private.
Instant alerts usually reach your inbox, Slack channel or webhook within minutes of MentionAlert collecting the post. Keywords set to a daily digest are bundled into one message per day.
No. MentionAlert matches your brand name, product names and phrases in the text of a post, so people who never use a hashtag are still found. You can add hashtags as extra keywords if your campaigns use them.
You can cancel at any time in your account. Monitoring and your mention history stay available until the end of the period you paid for. Payments are final, as described in the refund policy.
Social listening across the channels your buyers actually use
Most conversations about a product never reach the press. They happen in a Reddit thread, a reply under a post on X, a YouTube review or a question on a niche forum. MentionAlert collects those public mentions in one feed, so nobody on the team has to open six tabs every morning.
